“Cybernetic microscopes and metal antidote, two telescopes that magnify the size of a roach, three computers to cup of coffee planted with my hand and astroplanets detached turn on rear foggers” – Kool Keith a.k.a. Dr. Octagonecologyst
“Dr. Octagon is an extraterrestrial surgeon from Jupiter who uses space technology and primitive tools to perform medical procedures on his patients, some of whom die as he conducts his rounds, while others are murdered by his careless, barbaric acts. Octagon also practices as an orthopedic gynecologist and seduces and engages in sexual intercourse with his female patients and nurses.” - Wikipedia, ‘Dr. Octagon’
Dr. Octagon is one of the many personas of rapper, Kool Keith. The 1996 debut solo album, Dr. Octagonycologyst, was a collaboration project by Keith, Dan The Automator, and the legendary DJ Q-Bert of Invisibl Skratch Piklz. We brought the cover art illustration done by Pushead to life. I looked high and low but had trouble finding a proper skull mask that would fit Tracy’s face and match the look of the artwork. I found a skull prosthetic mask at the costume shop and asked Krystyl if she was able to apply it on Tracy as we had never done any prosthetic makeup yet for a shoot. Without Krystyl’s amazing talent, this look wouldn’t have been possible.
